What Does It Mean to Make Yourself Available to God?
We make room for what—and whom—we believe is worth making room for.
But in lives already filled with work, family, responsibilities, plans, and endless things that need our attention, what does it actually look like to make room for God?
In the first episode of our October Anchor Word, AVAILABLE, we’re exploring what biblical availability really means—and it may have less to do with doing more for God than we think.
Through Romans 12:1–6, we’ll look at availability as a posture of surrender, willingness, attentiveness, and response. We’ll talk about the difference between availability and ability, why you don’t have to feel qualified before making yourself available to God, and what we can learn from the way Jesus noticed people others might have considered interruptions.
Because becoming available to God doesn’t necessarily mean adding something else to your already-full life.
Sometimes it simply means learning to notice when God redirects your attention in the middle of the life you’re already living.
Maybe the prayer for this week is simply:
“Here I am, Lord. I’m available.”
