When Waiting Makes You Want to Take Control | FAITH

What do you do when you believe God has spoken—but the waiting stretches on longer than you expected?

Sarah knew God had promised Abraham descendants, yet years passed without the fulfillment she hoped for. Eventually, she tried to help the promise along herself. Her story is deeply human: faith, impatience, control, consequences, and ultimately, the faithfulness of God.

In this episode of Known & Becoming, we walk through Sarah’s story in Genesis and Hebrews 11 and consider what it means to trust God when we cannot yet see what He is doing.

We’ll talk about the temptation to take matters into our own hands, the difference between God’s timing and God’s answer, and why true faith is rooted not in the speed of His response, but in the character of the One who has already proven Himself faithful.

Because Scripture tells us that the Lord came to Sarah as He had said, did for Sarah what He had promised, and did it at the appointed time.

Reflection:
Have I prayed for something so long that I’ve stopped expecting an answer?

Scripture: Genesis 16–21; Hebrews 11:11–12
